The Polder Tour

By starting from a different village in the municipality of Kaag en Braassem each year, the organisation can guarantee that the tours are different and thus unique every year. In other words, not to be missed by keen walkers and polder lovers! The Poldertocht takes place every year on the first Sunday of September.

Liliane Fonds (Liliane Fund)

For the eighth consecutive year the tour is being organised jointly by the ice clubs from the municipality Kaag en Braassem and the Roelofarendsveen Rotary. A portion of the proceeds go to the Monique Velzeboer Foundation / the Liliane Fund. THree hiking trails are laid out of about 6, 11, and 17 kilometres. Anyone who wants to, can participate. Keep in mind that occasionally you will have to climb over polder fences, because the unique walking routes of the Poldertocht trek across meadows, farmyards and dikes that are not normally open to the public.

Polder Surprises around Kaag en Braassem

Along the way you will be treated to beautiful Dutch scenery and appealing Polder surprises: a maze, music for much needed hiking vitamins, plays and living statues.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The organisation is working hard to organise a walking tour with a ‘real Eleven City Race feel’ as well as more fun surprises. All the more reason to keep this day free and participate in the best hiking in our region!

Part of the proceeds go to the Monique Velzeboer Foundation / the Liliane Fund. The catering proceeds of the Polder Tour, are for  ice clubs from the municipality Kaag en Braassem.
